滴灌属全管道输水和局部微量灌溉,使水分的渗漏和损失降低到最低限度。同时,又由于能做到适时地供应作物根区所需水分,不存在外围水的损失问题,又使水的利用效率大大提高。灌溉可方便地结合施肥,即把化肥溶解后灌注入灌溉系统,由于化肥同灌溉水结合在一起,肥料养分直接均匀地施到作物根系层,真正实现了水肥同步,大大提高了肥料的有效利用率,同时又因是小范围 局部控制,微量灌溉,水肥渗漏较少,故可节省化肥施用量。运用灌溉施肥技术,为作物及时补充价格昂贵的微量元素提供了方便,并可避免浪费。 滴灌系统仅通过阀门人工或自动控制,又结合了施肥,故又可明显节省劳力投入,降低了 生产成本,提高了资源利用率,保证了全覆盖灌溉。

传统沟灌的大棚,一次灌水量大,地表长时间保持湿润,不但棚温、地温降低太快,回升较慢,且 蒸发量加大,室内湿度太高,易导致蔬菜或花卉病虫害发生。因 滴灌属于局部 微灌,大部分土壤表面保持干燥,且 滴头均匀缓慢地向根系 土壤层供水,对 地温的保持、回升,减少水分蒸发,降低室内湿度等均具有明显的效果。采用 膜下滴灌,即把 滴灌管(带)布置在膜下,效果更佳。另外滴灌由于操作方便,可实行高频灌溉,且出流孔很小,流速缓慢,每次灌水时间比较长, 土壤水分变化幅度小,故可控制根区内土壤能够长时间保持在接近于最适合蔬菜、花卉等生长的湿度。由于控制了室内空气湿度和 土壤湿度,可明显减少病虫害的发生,进而又可减少农药的用量。
